European Unicorn and Narwhal

Description

This is a version of the Unicorn most of us are familiar with, the European Unicorn or Einhorn.

Most scholars and scientists agree that the Narwhal was the progenitor of the Unicorn "myth" in Europe, based on the fact that they have similar "horns". The "horn" of the Narwhal is actually a tooth and the majority of males have them. Only a few female Narwhal have this tusk. Some males may even have two. (Narwhal tusk was sold as Unicorn horn in the Middle Ages as a cure-all for disease and poison)

I think that though they may be similar, they are not the same and they should be treated as such.

This is part of my "Unicorn Species" Series. Based on descriptions I have available, these are what I think they would look like!

If anyone knows of any I missed, please let me know, but look thru all of them first! Thanks!

One scholarly detail you may have missed
is the fact that Narwhal tusks
spiral counter-clockwise!

By extension, I would assume that unicorn horns do so, too. :hmm:
